The board
A majority-independent board.
Three directors govern the Foundation, a majority of them independent — no family tie, no financial tie to the founder, and free to vote against him. That independence is the load-bearing wall: it's what keeps a founder-led charity honest, especially on questions like compensation.

Our commitments
The rules we bound ourselves by.
$0 founder salary in year one
The founder takes no pay from the Foundation this year. Any future compensation is set only by the independent directors, never by him.
Foreign-grantmaking policy
Any future grant to a Romanian organization is vetted first — real charitable purpose, a written agreement, sanctions screening, and reporting — with the board keeping full discretion and control.
For-profit separation
The Foundation is walled off from any business the founder or his family owns: separate books, separate accounts, no shared funds, no cross-promotion.
Programs come first
The Foundation runs its own programs as its primary work. It is not, and will not become, a pass-through for any pre-chosen recipient.
Where we stand
501(c)(3) status: in progress.
We're an Arizona nonprofit corporation with a federal EIN, and our application for 501(c)(3) recognition is moving through the process. Until the IRS determination letter arrives, we are not claiming tax-deductibility and not accepting donations — which is exactly why the honest ask right now is to join the founding crew, not to give.
